After seeing some of my other work, someone approached me about creating an abstract time display that could run either as a desktop animation or as a screen saver. Combine TimeSaver with SaverDesktop and you get both. Given an image with an Aspect ratio at least as wide as your screen, TimeSaver will scroll the image across your screen as time passes. Any photographic panoramic image will do nicely, as will specially created artistic images. you can free download TimeSaver 1.0 now.
