ZRFW is the result of a Merger of two of Scandere Software's programs and debuted in January of 1996. The two programs it borrowed from were ZIP Runner and PhotoShow Pro, and the result of this was called ZR FileWorks (later versions were called ZR FileWorks Turbo, ZR FileWorks Multimedia, and then the most popular ZR FileWorks Omega series, and now this Mach series begins now in 2005 nine years after. I call this one the first Z5.) The merger of those 2 programs made what was then at the time a unique combination of a file decoder and picture viewer / Media Player which has subsequently been featured in computer magazines and has enjoyed many years as a top pick program of major online services. The program is designed around what is called an input box, which is a list of directories and files to do something with or to. This list is always shown unlike other programs which always force you to click "File", then "Open", before allowing to view or select files.
