Automated reminders are one example of this advantage. You schedule a reminder to be sent to one or many email addresses at a specific date and time and, as long as the Webtop is up and running, it will be sent without any additional work.
Receiving emails with large attachments is done in the background and does not affect, or slow down, your usage of the webtop. As soon as the entire email is downloaded, it will appear for you to view.
If email filters are setup, they are process as soon as the Webtop receives the email - not just when you log in and received them. This has the added advantage of being able to easily create autoresponders when you are away.
The Webtop was written in Java and, hence, can run on any system that has a JVM (which is basically all of them)
