EditBy: The idea is simple: compare the lightness of the original image with the lightness of a blur. Depending on the difference, apply more or less of this blur to the output image. It seems to work, more or less. The first slider defines the Gaussian blur radius. The second slider defines the opacity of the effect. The last slider, named “Curve/100″, controls the the responsiveness of the effect across the range of detected contrasts. None of this matters, really. Just monkey around with the controls until you get something you like.
This plugin should work with any Windows application capable of hosting Photoshop-compatible plugins. Due to my limitations… not those of my development environment …this plugin only support 8-bit RGBA images.
Before your image application can use a plugin, you must download it (duh!), unzip it, and move the contents to your plugins folder. That folder is usually located in your program’s directory along with the rest of the files that make your application work. Generally, you need to restart the image program for the new plugins to recognized.
