What is PlaylistNation?

PlaylistNation is the free, legal, and private way to view which songs your friends and family are listening to on their PCs. The PlaylistNation client works with all popular Audio Player programs and will post the track names of the song files you play to your private online account. From your online 'My Music' page, you can review which songs your friends have listened to recently and leave comments about any song. You can even post a list of your most recent tracks onto your personal homepage or blog. It's a great way to learn about new music from the people you know and trust.

What types of music file formats does PlaylistNation work with?

.mp3, .ogg, .wma, and .aac (I-Tunes)

What music players does PlaylistNation work with?

PlaylistNation should work with all major music players (WinAmp, Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc.)

What about My Privacy? Will I get sued for listening to mp3s?


We do not collect any data which relates to your songs' file formats or where your song files came from. In other words, The PlaylistNation client only sends track names to your online account. It will not differentiate Between ripped mp3s, songs purchased through ITunes, etc. Here is a complete list of the fields that are sent to our servers: (track name, artist name, album name, track number, year, genre, last time played, times played)
PlaylistNation will not share any of your personally identifiable information (e.g. your name or email) with 3rd parties, unless you authorize it by sending an invitation. (Note: full, privacy policy legal doc is coming soon.)
At any time, you can choose to "Hide" any song - this will prevent your friends from knowing that you played this song. you can free download PlaylistNation 1.0 now.
