MusiGenesis then begins adding random notes to the piece. The user keeps the notes she likes and deletes the ones she doesn't like. The key to MusiGenesis is that you don't need to know anything about music or rhythm to use it. All you need to know is what sounds good to you and what doesn't. The process is Similar to evolution by natural selection: MusiGenesis produces musical "mutations," while the user plays the role of natural selection, deciding which mutations will survive and which will not.

There are many programs out there that enable users with little or no knowledge of music to create their own musical compositions (Acid, Fruityloops and others).
