Giraffe can monitor nodes (computers), processes, directories, files and Web (sites or pages). If anything goes wrong alarms will be generated and these can be forwarded via e-mail. Local or remote doesn't make any difference. Giraffe also includes some tools useful for system monitoring, such as ping, ns lookup, remote Process Viewer and even a simple send mail tool.

New in version 1.1: SMTP server authentication; Nodes with dynamic IP can be monitored; Multiple nodes (IP range) can be added at once; Alarm handeling substantially improved.
