File Organiser 1.116 Description

"An alternative to Windows Explorer."

Developed to replace 'Explorer', the main difference is that this uses 2 panes and has 'bookmarks'. To make life much easier, especially for teachers. Two windows makes it simpler to copy FROM and TO.

Main Features

1. Configuration.

Most or all settings can be set under 'configuration', mostly for use by TWS version.

Confirmations can be set for users not used to copying or deleting and are worried about accidental deletion. (set by default)

2. Easier copying, moving, renaming, deleting.

Designed as a 2 pane window with option of a "Tree" view on the left side. Most features are left side priority, except when removable media and drive are inserted. Copying/ moving is intended to use the left side (source) and a right side(destination) so that the user can see where the files are which could be on different drives or partitions. Most operations are designed to be from left to right, but drag/ drop is allowed in Reverse!

Drag/ drop can be usually used within FileOrganiser or to external applications.


3. Favourite places. (with editor)

10 Favourite 'sets' (plus 1 fixed) or categories. e.g. MP3, Video, etc. These can be personalised.
Direct Access to drives. 3 are identical on each side and the other 2 (slightly blue colour) are configurable.
Each 'set' holds up to 38 Locations, making up to 380! (FULL visibility depends on the Window Height)
Switching favourite sets: this can be useful to switch off 'Track Favourite Sets'. (under 'Favourite SETS'), so that you can retain paths in the current windows.
Both sides can be added to the favourite place list (upto 38), most recent ones being at the top of the list, older ones 'falling off' the list.
All favourite places can be editing and copied or transferred to other 'sets'!
Drive buttons: 6 on each side plus one CD. 4 buttons fixed, 2 are configurable to paths or drives (Blue)
Paths to the individual drives are limited, unless 'configuration' is enabled.
