How does it work? Simply hassle-free. With a few mouse clicks, you define the outline of the object, which is used by Cam to Scan to determine the necessary calculation steps to straighten it. For particularly exact results there is an enlarged view to fine adjust the outline points.
With the preview you've always got the result under control. Zoom and pan the view to see every detail.
Uneven lighting? Cam to Scan takes care of an even brightness anyway. The document on the left was brightened with a common image processing software. On the right the result with Cam to Scan: Paper colour and text appearance are equal everywhere.
What do a flip chart, the display of a measurement device, a large-format newspaper article, an antiquaric book and a painting in common? It is difficult, if not impossible, to scan it.
The challenge starts with the size of the template, because large-format scanners are hard to find. Sometimes, the template itself is not suitable for scanning. For example, it is hard to imagine pushing an antiquaric book onto a flatbed scanner or taking a painting out of its Frame for scanning.
For firmly mounted objects, link for example a measurement device or a WhiteBoard, there is only one solution anyway: Photograph it.
Everyone who did that, knows how difficult it is to obtain good results. Perspective and lighting are very hard to get right. Beyond that, for multiple shots (e.g. a flip chart protocol) also the size of the individual images needs to be equal. Cam to Scan always straightens the template to exactly defined measurements, regardless of its size on the photo.
Perspective distortion is especially common on photographs of buildings. Often it is not possible to choose the position of the camera in a way that vertical lines in an image are parallel. you can free download Cam to Scan 1.0 now.
